Oil immersed transformer is a type of transformer that uses insulating oil as both the insulation medium and cooling medium. It is composed of iron core, winding, insulation material, insulation oil, tap changer, oil tank, oil storage tank, cooling device, insulation sleeve, gas relay, etc. Low voltage windings of oil immersed transformers are generally made of copper foil, except for small capacity where copper wires are used; The high-voltage winding adopts a multi-layer cylindrical structure, which balances the distribution of turns in the winding, reduces magnetic leakage, has high mechanical strength, and has strong short-circuit resistance; The body adopts vacuum drying technology; The transformer oil adopts vacuum filtration and oil injection to reduce the moisture inside the transformer to a very low level, greatly improving the insulation strength of the transformer body.

Oil immersed transformers have the following advantages:

Excellent insulation performance: Insulating oil has high dielectric strength and dielectric loss, which can effectively prevent electrical equipment from malfunctioning.
